Transparency around data handling matters. This policy summarizes what we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have when interacting with the configurator.
We collect usage data to improve features, optional account information if you sign in, and any builds, logbook entries, or feedback you choose to save. We do not sell or rent this data.
Saved builds and log entries are stored in project databases or cloud storage. You may delete your entries at any time. Aggregate telemetry is retained to analyze reliability and performance trends.
Our AI assistant is powered by OpenAI. When you interact with the assistant, your messages and relevant context (such as the page you are viewing or your current build configuration) are sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses. OpenAI may process this data according to their privacy policy and API terms of service. We do not send personally identifiable information such as your name or email to OpenAI. Conversation history is stored in your account if signed in, or locally in your browser if not. We also use OpenAI's embedding models to power semantic search across our catalog and guides. Additionally, the assistant may use Tavily, a web search service, to retrieve current information when answering questions about product availability, reviews, or legal updates. Tavily processes search queries according to their own privacy terms.
If enabled, Firebase or similar platforms may process authentication, file storage, or analytics. We use Google Analytics to track website traffic, user behavior, and engagement metrics to improve our service. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, time spent on site, and user interactions through cookies and similar technologies. We use Vercel Analytics to monitor web vitals and performance metrics to ensure optimal site speed and user experience. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with the site through session recordings and heatmaps. Clarity collects usage data including clicks, scrolls, and page navigation to help improve the user experience. We use Sentry for error tracking and performance monitoring to identify and fix issues quickly. Sentry collects error reports, stack traces, and performance data to improve application stability. These providers handle data under their own terms while supporting the core experience.
We use standard security practices to safeguard stored data. No system is perfect, so report vulnerabilities or suspicious activity and we will investigate quickly.
You can request deletion of account data, revoke access tokens, or disable cookies in your browser. Opting out of telemetry may limit our ability to improve performance insights.
Reach out with privacy questions or data requests and we will respond with available details and next steps.
