Salomon
GORE-TEX tactical boot with mountain-grade ankle support, All Terrain contaGRIP outsole, and full-grain leather upper for multi-terrain operations.
The Salomon Quest 4D GORE-TEX Forces 2 is the tactical variant of Salomon's well-regarded Quest 4D hiking platform, retuned for duty and field use. The 4D Advanced Chassis is the key feature: a TPU midsole frame that controls torsion and resists ankle rollover under heavy ruck loads while still allowing natural forward flex. Most combat boots feel like ankle braces; the Quest 4D feels like a hiking boot that survived an ankle protection upgrade.
The upper combines full-grain leather panels with abrasion-resistant mesh and a GORE-TEX waterproof bootie. The puncture-resistant insert is tested to ISO methods, and the All Terrain contaGRIP outsole uses deep lugs sized for mud, scree, and wet roots rather than urban asphalt.
This is the boot for users whose patrol or training environment includes elevation change, wet ground, and multi-day load carriage. It is heavy by minimalist-boot standards at roughly 23 ounces per boot, but break-in is shorter than most leather boots because of the EVA dual-density midsole.
