Overview
The Tech Sights TS100 is the budget way to put a real peep sight on an SKS. Like the TS200, it replaces the stock open notch rear with an aperture mounted on the rear sight base, giving an M16A1-style sight picture and a much cleaner aiming reference than the factory notch. The difference is the rear adjustment: the TS100 uses a dual flip aperture instead of a fully adjustable rear, which is how it comes in 14 dollars cheaper.
The flip aperture has two settings, one zeroed for 0-200 yards and one for 300 yards and beyond. Both apertures are .062 inch, the M16A1 service-rifle diameter. The rear is adjustable for windage; elevation is set through the SKS front sight post during zeroing rather than at the rear. The steel base clamps to the existing rear sight base with no drilling or tapping.
This is the pick for the shooter who wants the peep-sight upgrade and the longer sight radius without paying for the adjustable rear on the TS200. Flip to the close aperture for general work, flip to the far aperture when you stretch the carbine out. It fits Russian, Chinese, and Yugo SKS carbines.
