Taran Tactical
Billet aluminum base pad that adds two rounds and a hard-anodized bumper to the factory Glock 42 .380 magazine. Ships direct from TTI; not stocked at OpticsPlanet.
The Taran Tactical +2 base pad is the range and capacity answer for the Glock 42. It replaces the factory floorplate with a CNC-machined billet aluminum body that extends magazine capacity from 6 to 8 rounds and adds a hard-anodized bumper to speed reloads and protect the floorplate from impact damage. Pearce does not make a +2 for the G42, so this is the only mainstream way to get 8+1 .380 capacity from a stock G42 magazine.
Installation uses TTI's patented push-pin design: push the pin down, slide the base pad on, push the pin up to lock. No hex key, no specialty tools. The kit includes an extra-power follower spring sized for the longer stroke and is available in flat black, blue, red, titanium gray, coyote, bronze, OD green, gold, and other anodized colors.
The trade-off is length and concealment. The +2 noticeably extends the magazine below the grip, which is fine for range and belt-pouch carry but problematic for deep pocket or ankle carry where the G42 already lives near the limit. Most G42 owners run a Pearce +1 on the carry mag and a TTI +2 on spares carried in a pouch.
