The BoreBuddy Apogee Match 16.1-inch upper turns a standard AR-15 lower into a dedicated .22 LR rifle without sending rimfire bullets through a 5.56 barrel. It arrives as a complete assembly with BoreBuddy's Apogee Match barrel, upgraded bolt group, rimfire-cut upper receiver, M-LOK handguard, and ambidextrous charging handle.
The upper uses a 1:12-twist barrel threaded for common rimfire muzzle devices. BoreBuddy pairs it with a .22 LR-length ejection port and dust cover instead of adapting a centerfire ejection port. The included bolt carries the crescent firing pin, power extractor, and Gen 2 standard barrel collar.
This assembly drops onto a standard AR-15 lower. It still uses an AR22 magazine system, so it is not a replacement upper for purpose-built rifles with proprietary receivers and magazines.
