Wiley X
Wiley X's classic ballistic shooting glass and a long-running mil-spec issue option. ANSI Z87.1+ ballistic rated, three lenses in the kit (smoke, clear, light rust), and a removable foam gasket for dust and debris.
The Wiley X Saber Advanced is one of the longest-running ballistic shooting glasses in continuous production, predating the Rogue Comm and most of the modern lineup. It earns its place on this list for two specific features: the larger lens area covers more of the orbital bone than most spectacles, and the removable foam gasket bridges the gap between glasses and a goggle when you need protection from dust, wind, or debris.
Optical glass is rated ANSI Z87.1+ for high-velocity impact and MIL-PRF-32432 for ballistic fragmentation. The 3-lens kit ships with smoke gray, clear, and light rust lenses, with the rust contrast lens earning a permanent home for many owners as the all-purpose default. Frame construction is sturdy enough to handle the abuse that comes with truck-bench storage and field carry without warping.
At ~$130 for the kit with foam gasket, the Saber Advanced is the right pick if you shoot in dusty or windy conditions (PRS prone work, rural training, dirt-bag matches) or if you also ride motorcycles and want one set of glasses for both. The compromise is the older frame profile, which sits more squared-off and less form-fitting than newer offerings like the StingerHawk or Aegis Echo II.
