Princeton Tec
The default helmet admin light for MPLS-compatible rails. 55-lumen central LED plus surrounding colored LEDs (red/blue/green/IR variant). Runs on a single CR123A and weighs 47 g with battery.
The Princeton Tec Charge Pro MPLS is the helmet admin light that ships on the majority of professional helmet builds. The central white LED puts out 55 lumens on max, with a red, green, blue, or IR secondary LED ring depending on variant. White is for gear checks and map reading; red preserves night vision; green is bright enough to read paper under without dark adaptation loss; IR is invisible to the naked eye but illuminates the working area for an active NVG.
Battery is a single CR123A, 46-hour burn time on the low LED ring. Total weight with battery is 47 g (1.66 oz). The MPLS (Modular Personal Lighting System) arm articulates so you can point the light at whatever you need to see, then push it out of the field of view. The included bracket mounts to any standard ARC rail.
For a buyer choosing between the Charge Pro and the cheaper Princeton Tec Switch MPLS: the Charge Pro offers more lumens, longer burn time, and a tougher housing. The Switch is lower-profile and lighter, at the cost of output. Most professionals run the Charge Pro. The Charge Pro is also the recommended companion to the Ops-Core RAILINK system in its RAILINK variant.
