Smith & Wesson
Performance Center .380 micro with 3.1-inch ported barrel and PowerPort slide vent for reduced muzzle flip in a pocket-size frame
0-10 Scale Across 8 Axes
The Performance Center Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp is the only factory-compensated micro-compact .380 on the market. Smith & Wesson took the standard Bodyguard 2.0 platform and added a 3.1-inch ported barrel with a PowerPort slide cut that vents gas upward, reducing muzzle flip enough to matter in a pistol that weighs 11.8 ounces. The longer barrel also lifts velocity closer to what defensive .380 loads need to function reliably.
The Performance Center touches go beyond the comp. The flat-face trigger breaks cleaner than the base Bodyguard 2.0, the slide serrations are more aggressive, and the AmeriGlo LumiGreen front sight is bright enough to use without a flashlight in marginal light. It ships with one 10-round flush magazine and one 12-round extended magazine, matching the base Bodyguard's class-leading capacity for a pocket .380.
At $499 street ($549 MSRP), it is $50 over the base Bodyguard 2.0 and $100 under most subcompact 9mm carry comps. For shooters who want the lightest possible pocket pistol but cannot manage a Glock 43X or Shield Plus, the Carry Comp is the one factory-comped option that fits. The compensator does add length over the base gun, so verify holster fit before committing to an existing Bodyguard 2.0 mold.
