The SVB500 solves a problem a top-opening box cannot: it mounts vertically on the side of a nightstand, desk, or bed frame, so the pistol is never lying flat where you have to reach down and over it. Present a fingerprint and the spring-loaded drawer drops down, delivering the handgun grip-first straight into your firing hand. That is the fastest draw geometry in the quick-access class. The 20-print biometric reader is backed by an override key, an interior light comes on when the drawer opens, and the 18-gauge steel body mounts with the included hardware. It holds one handgun, has no fire rating, and its slim vertical footprint hides in places a cube safe will not fit.
