The useful order is magazine, holster, optic path, then light. The magazine supports practice and carry rotation. The holster secures the actual pistol shape. The plate determines whether the dot can mount at all, while the light changes both weight and holster geometry.

Mk1, Mk2, and Mk3 are not one accessory interface. Their geometry differs where sights, optic hardware, and holster shells index on the gun. A generic Five-seveN label is therefore not enough. Carry fitment across versions only when the exact part names both sides of the match.

Factory magazines are the first upgrade because a spare supports every range session and gives a carry gun a rotation. Start with three for carry. Build toward six to eight for regular training, where loaded magazines keep practice moving and isolate a single magazine when a feeding problem appears.

Match the factory part number rather than the shared pistol name. The Mk2 uses MPN 3866100030. The MRD/Mk3 uses MPN 20-100682, and that magazine does not fit the Mk2. Skip basepads. A stack of correct 20-round factory magazines is the durable recommendation.

The Vedder Holsters LightTuck is the IWB choice for Mk1 and Mk2. Its adjustable retention, three ride heights, and 30-degree cant range let the shell move with the carry position, while the optional optic cut leaves room for a dot. It is not an MRD/Mk3 shell.

The GunfightersINC Kenai is the chest-carry choice for the MRD/Mk3. It offers right- or left-hand draw plus selectable optic and threaded-barrel clearance. The standard shell is not light-bearing, so adding a rail light changes the holster order, not just the pistol.

This is why the holster comes before the optic, light, or barrel. Decide whether the gun is an IWB carry pistol or a chest rig, then order the shell around the actual version and installed hardware.

A Mk2 starts with the Dorin Technologies DT-CAOS. Front serrations on the factory slide cover identify the Mk2 interface, and interchangeable plates cover the Holosun K/EPS family along with the other named footprints. The system retains the factory rear sight, but the irons do not co-witness through the dot.

An MRD/Mk3 uses its factory plate system. The C&H Precision FN57-EPS plate joins that slide to the Holosun EPS Full Size. The enclosed housing protects the emitter path from debris, and the MRS model combines a 2 MOA dot with a 32 MOA circle. Keep the factory sights unless a sight maker names the exact pistol configuration. Older Five-seveN pistols can carry fixed or adjustable sight setups, so “Mk1 sight” is not a complete ordering description.

The Streamlight TLR-1 HL is the rail-light pick for the MRD/Mk3. The Five-seveN Picatinny rail uses its 1913 key, and the light produces 1,000 lumens and 20,000 candela. That beam adds target identification to a defensive setup, but the 4.32-ounce body also changes balance at the muzzle end.

Its two CR123A batteries provide a 1.5-hour runtime. More important for the build, the light becomes part of the holster's retention shape. Do not add it to either selected standard shell and assume the pistol will still seat. Use the pistol builder to keep the MRD/Mk3 parts list together while you plan the final light-bearing rig.

The EFK Fire Dragon FN Five-seveN Threaded Barrel is the barrel pick. It is 5.5 inches long, uses M10x1.0 RH threads, and includes the adapter that presents 1/2x28. EFK names USG, IOM, Mk II, Mk 3, and MRD fitment, which is the complete boundary for this recommendation.
