Holosun 507C ($309), Modlite PL350 ($365), SureFire X300U ($299), Timney Alpha ($150), Talon Grips ($22), TTI +5 base pads ($42), and aftermarket optic-cut slides for non-MOS owners.

The Glock 19X is the FDE Coyote crossover Glock: full-size G17 Gen5 frame for a complete firing grip, paired with the same G19-length slide used on the smaller compact. Two factory variants ship today and they upgrade differently. The original 2018 19X has a 4.02-inch non-threaded barrel and no MOS optic cut. The Davidson's Exclusive 19X MOS Threaded (2024) keeps the G19-length slide but adds a 4.52-inch threaded Marksman Barrel that protrudes past the muzzle, plus a factory MOS cut and AmeriGlo suppressor-height irons. Slide-side aftermarket parts (slides, barrels) are G19-fit on both variants. This guide ranks the best Glock 19X upgrades and accessories across optics, triggers, lights, barrels, sights, mags, frame mods, and aftermarket optic-cut slides.
Identify your 19X before you spend a dollar on slide-side parts. The frame is the same Gen5 G17 across both variants, so triggers, mags, magwells, mag catches, Talon Grips, and the Striker Control Device cross-fit. Slides and barrels do not.
| Spec | Original 19X (2018) | Davidson's 19X MOS (2024) |
|---|---|---|
| Slide | G19-length | G19-length |
| Barrel | 4.02", non-threaded (flush) | 4.52", 1/2x28 threaded (protrudes past slide) |
| MOS Cut | No (irons only) | Yes (factory MOS plate set) |
| Sights | Glock factory standard | AmeriGlo suppressor-height tritium |

| Buy For Aftermarket Slide / Barrel | G19-length | G19-length (factory barrel already threaded) |
Critical mistake to avoid: Buying a G17-length barrel or slide for any 19X. Both 19X variants use the G19-length slide pattern, so G17-length slide-side parts do not fit either gun. Buy G19-length aftermarket slides and G19-fit threaded barrels regardless of which 19X you own. The Davidson's 19X MOS Threaded ships at $819.89 MSRP and is the only 19X variant with a factory optic cut; its 4.52-inch threaded Marksman Barrel protrudes past the same G19-length slide the original 19X uses. For shared parts, the G17 Gen5 path applies. See our Glock 17 upgrades guide for the trigger and frame product rationale, and our Glock 19 upgrades guide for G19-length slide and barrel context. Build your 19X loadout in our rifle builder.
Weapon light, red dot, spare mag, and trigger, the upgrades most pistol owners add first.

The order that gives you the most capability per dollar on a 19X. Skip cosmetic mods until every priority above is handled. If you have the original non-MOS 19X, swap priorities 2 and 3: buy the optic-cut slide before the optic itself.
| Priority | Upgrade | Cost | Impact |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Talon Grips + extra G17 mags | $22 + $75 | Cheapest meaningful gain, mag stack first |
| 2 | Optic-cut slide (original 19X only) | $229-$549 | Required before any optic on a non-MOS 19X |
| 3 | Optic on MOS plate | $309-$599 | Faster acquisition, foundation of every modern carry build |
| 4 | Weapon Light | $125-$365 | Non-negotiable on a defensive 19X |
| 5 | Trigger | $90-$150 | Single biggest shootability gain |
| 6 | Suppressor-height sights | $139 | Co-witness redundancy (skip on Davidson's MOS, already included) |
| 7 | Striker Control Device | $80 | Holstering safety check for AIWB carry |
| 8 | Barrel (suppressor or comp) | $189-$389 | G19-length for both variants (Davidson's MOS already threaded from factory) |
| 9 | Magwell / TTI base pads | $42-$99 | Faster reloads, +5 capacity per mag |
Key insight:The cheapest path to a fully-modern 19X depends on your variant. If you have the Davidson's MOS, mount an optic to the factory plate that came with the gun, suppressor-height sights are already installed, and the threaded barrel is ready for a 9mm can. If you have the original 19X, your first slide-side dollar buys an optic-cut slide. For a deeper breakdown of pistol optic footprints, see our best pistol red dot guide. If you are still weighing the 19X against a P320, M&P 2.0 5", or Walther PDP F-Series, our best full-size 9mm pistols guide ranks the field.

The Davidson's Exclusive 19X MOS Threaded ships with the factory MOS plate set, RMR-pattern dots like the 507C and RMR Type 2 mount directly without a separate plate; ACRO needs the dedicated MOS plate. For the original non-MOS 19X, an aftermarket optic-cut slide is required first, see the slides section below. For broader pistol optic footprint guidance, see our best pistol red dot guide.

The 19X uses the Gen5 trigger group, identical to the G17 and G19 Gen5 fire control. Every drop-in Gen5 Glock trigger fits. The factory 19X trigger is the gun's biggest weakness, mushy wall and a long reset, so the trigger is the single best shootability dollar you can spend after the optic and light. For cross-model trigger rankings (Glock Performance Trigger, Overwatch DAT, Timney Alpha, Apex AEK), see our Best Glock Triggers 2026 guide.
Best Overall, Crisp 3 lb flat-face with zero fitting
Best Flat-Face Shoe, NP3-coated with factory bar compatibility
Best Value, Factory feel improved with cleaner break

A weapon light is non-negotiable on a defensive 19X. The full-size G17 frame and rail accommodate full-size lights cleanly. The SureFire X300U-A is the duty standard. The Modlite PL350 PLHv2 is the long-throw upgrade for outdoor work, 54,000 candela versus the X300U's 11,300. If you carry concealed, the Streamlight TLR-7A keeps the package smaller. For lumens-vs-candela tradeoffs and broader pistol light comparisons, see our best pistol lights guide.
Best Overall, Maximum output with broad holster support
Best Throw, Highest candela in the category for outdoor work
Best Value, Duty-grade output without the SureFire price
Best Compact, Flush-fit light for concealed 19X carry

Both 19X variants share the G19-length slide, so G19-fit barrels cover both guns. Buy G19-length, never G17-length. The Radian RAMJET G19 + AFTERBURNER pairs a matched barrel with an integrated comp; the SilencerCo G19 threaded barrel is the right call for suppressor work on a non-threaded original 19X; the Faxon G19 match barrel is the best-value accuracy upgrade. Davidson's 19X MOS owners already have a match-grade 4.52-inch threaded Marksman barrel from the factory and only need an aftermarket barrel if swapping to a comp system. For cross-model match, threaded, and integrated comp rankings, see our Best Glock Barrels 2026 guide.
Best Overall, Matched barrel and comp for max recoil reduction on either 19X
Best Suppressor Host, Match-grade G19-length threaded barrel for the original 19X
Best Value, Match accuracy with flame-fluted weight savings for the original 19X

Glock dovetails are universal across the G17, G19, G45, and 19X, so every Glock-pattern sight set fits. The Davidson's 19X MOS already ships with AmeriGlo suppressor-height tritium, so most owners can skip this category. The original 19X owner decision is height. If you added an aftermarket optic-cut slide, run suppressor-height sights from Night Fision so the irons co-witness through the glass. If you stayed iron-only, the Trijicon HD XR or AmeriGlo CAP gives you the best front-sight pickup at standard height.
Best Iron-Only, Fast front pickup without losing distance precision
Best for Red Dot, Irons that co-witness through RMR-footprint optics
Best Value, Bright orange front at a non-premium price

The 19X carries the G17 Gen5 frame, so any Gen5 G17 frame part fits. Talon Grips is the cheapest worthwhile upgrade and the first one to install on a new 19X. The SLR magwell speeds reloads but replaces the factory lanyard loop, which is part of the 19X identity. The Langdon Tactical Striker Control Device is the single best holstering safety upgrade for an AIWB-carried striker pistol.
Best First Upgrade, Massive grip improvement for under $25
Best Magwell, Faster reloads with a clean Gen5 fit
Best Carry Safety, Tactile holstering check unique to striker pistols

This section only applies to the original non-MOS 19X. If you have the Davidson's 19X MOS, your slide is already optic-cut, skip ahead. For original 19X owners, the cheapest path to running a red dot is an aftermarket G19-length optic-cut slide. Always buy G19-length slides, never G17-length, all 19X variants use the G19 slide pattern.
Best Budget, OEM reliability with a factory RMR cut
Best Performance, Reduced mass with RMR cut for the original 19X
Best Premium, Hand-fitted slide with modular optic mounting

Why magazines come first: The Glock 19X takes Glock 17 magazines directly, which makes it the easiest Glock to mag-stack on the planet. G17 magazines are the most widely produced 9mm pistol magazines in the world, prices are low, OEM availability is constant, and building a 10-magazine training stack costs less than a single premium upgrade. Stock up before you spend a dollar on anything else.
How many magazines do you need: For everyday carry, two minimum, one in the gun and one on body. For home defense, three to four staged around the home gives you redundancy without logistics complexity. For range and competition work, ten magazines is the practical floor for a full training day without constant reloading breaks. The 19X ships with one OEM 17-rounder and two G17+2 19-rounders, so you start ahead. Add a Taran Tactical Firepower Base Pad +5 ($42) to bedside or competition mags to push capacity to 22+1 in a single stick.
Cross-compatibility with other Glocks: The 19X takes G17 mags directly, including OEM 17-round, OEM G17+2 19-round (the orange-follower mag the 19X ships with), OEM 33-round, Magpul PMAG 17 GL9, and PMAG 21 GL9. G19 15-round magazines also fit but leave a gap at the base of the grip (the 19X has the longer G17 grip). G17 mags also drop into the G19 and G26 frames, which makes the G17/19X mag your cross-platform standard if you own multiple Glocks. Buy OEM G17 magazines for carry reliability and PMAG GL9 for training volume.
Best Overall, Factory reliability at the factory price
Best Value Aftermarket, Training mag at a sub-$20 price
Best Extension, +5 capacity for bedside and competition 19X builds

Budget ($820): Original 19X + optic-cut slide, Talon Grips, compact light, 507C optic, Apex trigger, three training mags. Covers an optic-equipped carry 19X. Mid ($1,572): Adds duty-grade light, suppressor-height sights, match barrel, Striker Control Device, OEM mag stack, ZEV OZ9 slide. Premium ($1,895): Davidson's 19X MOS skips the slide and sights line items because they're factory, and the saved budget goes toward a Trijicon RMR, Modlite PL350, Radian RAMJET comp, and a full mag stack with TTI extensions.
Best Glock 45 MOS Upgrades 2026 - The 19X's sister platform. Same G17 Gen5 frame and same G19-length slide. Slide-side and frame-side parts cross between the G45 and both 19X variants; the only difference is the Davidson's 19X MOS factory-threaded protruding 4.52-inch barrel.
Best Glock 17 Upgrades 2026 - The full-size G17 upgrade path. Triggers, magazines, mag catches, magwells, and Talon Grips all cross-fit the 19X because the 19X carries the G17 Gen5 frame. G17-length barrels and slides do NOT fit either 19X variant; both use the G19-length slide pattern.
Best Glock 19 Upgrades 2026 - The compact G19 upgrade path. G19-length barrels and slides cross-fit both 19X variants because both use the G19-length slide pattern. Buy G19-length parts for any 19X slide-side upgrade.
Glock Gen 5 vs Gen 6 2026 - What Gen 6 changes (revised trigger housing, undercut trigger guard, fixed beavertail) and which Gen5 aftermarket parts from this guide still drop into a future Gen6 19X if Glock releases one.
Best Full-Size 9mm Pistols 2026 - Platform comparison if you are still weighing the 19X against the P320, M&P 2.0 5", CZ P-10F, Walther PDP F-Series, and other full-size 9mm hosts.

Best Pistol Red Dot Sights 2026 - Every pistol optic footprint ranked with battery life, emitter type, and durability for MOS-ready guns including the Davidson's 19X MOS and aftermarket optic-cut 19X slides.
Best Pistol Lights 2026 - Streamlight, SureFire, Modlite, and Inforce ranked with lumens-vs-candela breakdowns and holster compatibility notes for full-size pistol rails.
Best Glock 19 Compensators 2026 - Stand-alone comps and barrel+comp systems. G19-length options cross-fit both 19X variants since both use the G19-length slide.
Best Concealed Carry Holsters 2026 - IWB, AIWB, and OWB holsters ranked. The 19X uses the G45/G17 full-size frame paired with a G19-length slide, so G45-cut holsters fit both 19X variants directly; the Davidson's MOS variant's 4.52-inch barrel protrudes past the slide and may need a holster cut for a threaded muzzle.
