Staccato P optic footprint: what red dots fit

Staccato P

The Staccato P mounts red dots through a plate, so the buying decision is the plate, not a single factory footprint. Its slide carries the Dawson Precision Optic pocket that Staccato uses across the CS, C, C2, P, XC, and XL, and plate makers label the same optics-ready hosts DUO. Trijicon RMR, RMR HD, SRO, and Holosun 507C pattern optics ride the C&H Precision Staccato DUO RMR plate. Aimpoint ACRO and Steiner MPS pattern dots have their own DUO steel plates, the Holosun 509T has a 509T steel plate, and the micro field, meaning the Shield RMSc, Holosun 407K and 507K, and the Holosun EPS family, mounts on the DUO Holosun K and EPS plates.

The dividing line inside Staccato's own lineup is the HD. The Dawson Precision optic kits are listed for the CS, C, C2, P, XC, and XL and explicitly not for the HD C3.6, HD C4X, HD P4, or HD P4.5, and the HD's HOST adapters do not travel the other way either. A plate is only a plate for your pistol if the model list on it names your model. Those kits are also scoped to the V2 and V3 line of handguns, so an older 2011 slide is not a safe assumption of the same pocket.

Staccato P optic fitment FAQ

What optic footprint does the Staccato P use?

Do I need an adapter plate to mount a red dot on the Staccato P?

Yes, for almost every optic. The Staccato P mounts red dots through a plate system, so you bolt the plate matching your optic's footprint into the slide and then bolt the optic to the plate. Plates are available for the Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C, Shield RMSc / Holosun K, Aimpoint ACRO and Holosun 509T footprints.

Does the Holosun 507C X2 fit a Staccato P?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun 507C X2 is a Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C footprint optic, so it mounts on the Staccato P using the C&H Precision Staccato DUO RMR Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Trijicon RMR Type 2 fit a Staccato P?

Yes, on a plate. The Trijicon RMR Type 2 is a Trijicon RMR / Holosun 507C footprint optic, so it mounts on the Staccato P using the C&H Precision Staccato DUO RMR Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Holosun 507K X2 fit a Staccato P?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun 507K X2 is a Shield RMSc / Holosun K footprint optic, so it mounts on the Staccato P using a matching plate such as the C&H Precision Staccato DUO RMRcc Plate and C&H Precision Staccato DUO Holosun K Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Does the Holosun EPS Carry fit a Staccato P?

Yes, on a plate. The Holosun EPS Carry mounts on the Staccato P using a matching plate such as the C&H Precision Staccato DUO RMRcc Plate and C&H Precision Staccato DUO Holosun K Plate. Install the plate to the slide first, then the optic to the plate.

Do Staccato HD plates fit a Staccato P?

No, and it is the most common mix-up in the lineup. The HD HOST mounting kit is listed for the HD C3.6, HD C4X, HD P4, and HD P4.5 only, and the Dawson Precision optic kits that fit the P are listed as not compatible with any of those HD models. Neither family crosses in either direction.

Is a Staccato DUO plate the same as a DPO plate?

Match the model list rather than the label. C&H Precision sells its plates for this slide as Staccato DUO and lists them for the Staccato C, C2, CS, P, XC, and XL, which is the same model list Dawson Precision gives for its DPO mounting kits. If the plate names your model, it is the right plate.

Can I run a micro red dot like a Shield RMSc on a Staccato P?

Yes, through the micro plates rather than the slide. The Shield RMSc, Holosun 407K and 507K, and the Holosun EPS family all mount on the Staccato DUO Holosun K or EPS plates, which bolt into the same pocket the full-size plates use. The slide itself is not cut for a micro footprint.
