FAST RF1 High Cut Helmet System

The Ops-Core FAST RF1 is the first helmet in the FAST line rated against rifle rounds. It stops 7.62x39 mild steel core, M80 ball (7.62x51 NATO), and M193 ball (5.56x45) projectiles in addition to the standard handgun and fragmentation threat spectrum a FAST SF or Maritime covers.

The performance number that matters: 2.59 lb shell weight in size large. That is the lightest rifle-rated helmet currently in production worldwide, and roughly 1.3 lb heavier than the bare FAST SF shell. For a typical setup with NVG, mount, counterweight, and ARC-rail headset, the all-up loaded weight lands around 5.5-6 lb, which is wearable for extended operations but not casual.

The FAST RF1 retains the standard FAST interface: ARC accessory rails and a VAS-pattern shroud, so every Wilcox/Norotos NVG mount, Princeton Tec/S&S helmet light, and AMP/ComTac VI/Sordin headset that fits a Maritime or SF will fit the RF1 unchanged. Gentex publishes a 6-week lead time on single orders, 8-12 weeks for multiples. This helmet is appropriate when the threat model genuinely includes rifle rounds, not as a flex purchase.
