FailZero Nickel Boron BCG

FailZero helped popularize nickel boron coatings in AR-15 bolt carrier groups with their proprietary EXO technology. The EXO coating provides dry lubricity to critical surfaces, improving corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and heat tolerance compared to traditional phosphate finishes. This coating is applied through an electroless deposition process that creates a uniform layer on all surfaces, inside and out, ensuring consistent performance even in hard-to-reach areas.

The defining characteristic of FailZero's EXO technology is its ability to function reliably without external lubrication. While light lubrication is still recommended for optimal performance, these BCGs can run dry in emergency situations without the immediate failures that would plague standard phosphate carriers. The coating's low-friction surface reduces heat buildup, minimizes wear on reciprocating parts, and enables smoother cycling that translates to improved reliability and shooter comfort.

Cleaning is remarkably simple with the EXO nickel boron surface. Carbon deposits that would require aggressive scrubbing and solvents on phosphate finishes simply wipe away from the slick nickel boron surface. FailZero fits mil-spec AR15 upper receivers and supports 5.56/.223 and .300 Blackout use, with EXO coating on the bolt carrier, extractor, cam pin, carrier key, and firing pin.
