The 1016 kit combines RMA's Level III female plate pair with the Queen Plate Carrier. Each plate weighs 2.4 pounds plus or minus 0.125 pound, giving the kit a broader published rifle-threat class than the 0922 without approaching the 1118's plate weight.
RMA publishes the 1016's threat set as .308 M80, 7.62x39 mild steel core, and 5.56 M193. That is a formal Level III class rather than the narrower special-threat list attached to the 0922, and it costs half a pound of extra plate weight per side, one pound across the pair, to get there.
At 4.8 pounds of plate plus the 2.25-pound Queen carrier, the complete kit lands around seven pounds. That is the middle rung of RMA's female line: heavier than the 0922 SRT kit, and well under half the 1118 Level IV kit's 16.5 pounds.
