Overview

MDT Rifle Control Points solve a specific precision-rifle problem: rebuilding the exact same support-hand position from one shot to the next. When a shooter runs off a support bag from a fence post, gate, tire, or barricade, the support-hand thumb has no fixed landing point on a bare M-LOK forend. Control Points give that thumb a defined ergonomic shelf, so the shooter loads the same leverage against recoil every time. The result is steadier recoil tracking, faster follow-up shots, and easier impact spotting because the sight picture stays flatter through the shot.

Each Control Point is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and wears a Type II Class II black anodized finish. The V-Hull profile improves engagement and lockup against a support bag, and a textured grip surface keeps the thumb planted under recoil. The pair mounts directly to any M-LOK slot with infinite adjustment along the slot pattern, so there are no fixed detents to work around; the shooter dials in the exact fore-and-aft position that matches their hold. The pair weighs 2.33 oz, and the box ships with one left control point, one right control point, and mounting hardware including a 1/8 in hex drive tool, so left- and right-handed shooters are covered out of the box.

MDT already sells the Baker Wings and Control Bridge for rifle control, but both are heavier and more tied to specific MDT chassis models. Rifle Control Points are the lighter, chassis-agnostic option: they mount to MDT's own ACC Premier, ACC Elite, and LSS Gen 3 Competition forends and, per MDT, to any standard M-LOK forend, though some overhang is possible on forends with a different profile than MDT's chassis. The weight savings matter most in NRL Hunter divisions where every ounce counts against a power-factor and weight limit.

Key Features

  • 6061-T6 aluminum construction with Type II Class II black anodized finish
  • V-Hull profile improves engagement and lockup with a support bag
  • Infinite M-LOK adjustment anywhere along the slot pattern, no fixed positions

  • Textured grip surface for repeatable support-hand thumb placement
  • Ships with mounting hardware and a 1/8 in hex drive tool
  • Compatible with MDT ACC Premier, ACC Elite, and LSS Gen 3 Competition forends

Pros

  • +Infinite M-LOK adjustment lets the shooter dial in exact thumb placement
  • +Ambidextrous pair included covers left- and right-handed shooters out of the box
  • +Lighter than MDT's Baker Wings and Control Bridge, useful in NRL Hunter weight divisions
  • +Mounts to any standard M-LOK forend, not just specific MDT chassis models
  • +Machined 6061-T6 aluminum with a durable black anodized finish

Cons

  • New July 2026 release with no long-term durability data yet
  • Some overhang possible on M-LOK forends with a different profile than MDT's own chassis
  • Does not add the weight-tuning of MDT's heavier Control Bridge or Baker Wings systems
