Overview

This is a from-scratch large-frame AR planning path, not a claim that every product sold as an AR-10 interchanges. The first release stays inside the Aero M5 / DPMS Gen 1 High receiver geometry, SR-25 magazine pattern, and DPMS .308 barrel-extension lane. It supports .308 Winchester, 7.62x51 NATO, and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel choices where the selected barrel and bolt are rated for the cartridge.

The nine required core slots cover the serialized lower, upper receiver, barrel, handguard, trigger, carrier, charging handle, stock, and grip. The recommended M5 lower-parts kit supplies a basic safety selector, so the separate safety slot is an optional replacement upgrade. Those major parts still do not make a complete rifle by themselves. Add the M5-specific lower-parts kit, a matched large-frame recoil system, and a gas block and tube matched to the selected barrel's journal and gas length before treating the bill of materials as complete.
