Galvion
Premium ballistic helmet from Galvion. Modified NIJ 0106.01/IIIA shell rated against .357 SIG and .44 Magnum, 1.47-1.92 lb shell weight, and 2.33-2.89 lb system weight by size.
The Galvion Batlskin Caiman is the premium ballistic helmet from Galvion, the company that absorbed Revision in 2021 and continued the Caiman line under its current branding. It is a strong option for buyers who want something other than Team Wendy or Ops-Core.
Certification is a modified NIJ 0106.01/IIIA test that adds .357 SIG and .44 Magnum threat coverage, which is a meaningful step up from baseline NIJ IIIA. Shell weight is 1.47 lb (small) to 1.92 lb (XL) depending on size, which makes the Caiman one of the lighter premium ballistic shells available. Complete-system weight with rails, retention, and liner lands competitive with the EXFIL Ballistic and FAST SF.
The differentiator is Galvion's modular ear and face protection ecosystem. The Caiman accepts bolt-on ear covers and face shields purpose-built for the helmet, addressing the fragmentation-coverage gap many premium high-cut shells leave open. The Wilcox L4 Series shroud and rail system gives the helmet a modern NVG and accessory interface out of the box. Multicam adds about $55 to the base price. Atomic Defense and Galvion direct are the primary purchase channels.
