E2D Defender Ultra

The SureFire E2D Defender Ultra is the Defender-series sibling of the EDCL2-T. The output interface is similar, press for low, harder press for high, but the bezel and tailcap are explicitly designed for contact-distance use. The crenellated Strike Bezel and scalloped tailcap flare stay hooked in a hand under pressure and give you a usable impact tool without the legal baggage of a dedicated weapon.

Output is 1,000 lumens on high and 5 lumens on low via a precision micro-textured reflector that builds a smooth hotspot with wide situational-awareness spill. Runtime on high is just over an hour, and the dual-stage tactical switch is identical in feel to the EDCL2-T. The Defender carries thinner than most 18650 tactical lights, which is why it shows up on plainclothes and duty belt carriers who want a proper striking surface without adding bulk.

Choose the Defender over the EDCL2-T when the self-defense use case is primary and you want the aggressive bezel. Choose the EDCL2-T if you want marginally higher output and a smoother pocket carry.
