Key Takeaways
- →Fits non-Dual Fuel M600U and M640U: SureFire sells the KE2-T as a Turbo upgrade head for those 6-volt Scout Lights and as the replacement head for the M640T Turbo Scout Light Pro.
- →Does not fit Dual Fuel bodies: SureFire rules out every Dual Fuel body, including the M640DF. Those lights take the KE2-DF head.
- →700 lumens, 70,000 candela: SureFire rates the head for a 529-meter beam and 1.5 hours of runtime on two 123A cells.
- →Two finishes: KE2-T-BK (UPC 084871334273) and KE2-T-TN (UPC 084871334495), listed by SureFire on October 30, 2026.
- →Head only, 1.8 oz: It replaces the bezel and reflector. The body, tailcap, and mount stay on the gun.

What the KE2-T Is: a Turbo Head for an Existing Scout Light
The SureFire KE2-T is a replacement head that converts a non-Dual Fuel M600U or M640U Scout Light into a Turbo, throw-first light. SureFire's product page calls it a "candela power upgrade for M600U/M640U Scout Light models" and the genuine replacement head for the M640T Turbo Scout Light Pro. You keep the body, tailcap, switch, and mount you already own and unscrew the old bezel.
The selling point is candela, not lumens. SureFire rates the KE2-T at 700 lumens and 70,000 candela, with the turbo reflector concentrating output into a tight beam for identification farther downrange. The Firearm Blog's October 30 coverage put it plainly: the head trades flood for throw. On a carbine that lives indoors, that tight hotspot gives less peripheral spill than a flood head; on a rural property or patrol rifle where targets sit past 50 yards, it is the better beam.

KE2-T Compatibility: Which Scout Light Bodies Work
The KE2-T fits non-Dual Fuel M600U and M640U Scout Lights and the M640T, and it does not fit any Dual Fuel body. That last exclusion is the trap. Dual Fuel Scout Lights, such as the M640DF Scout Light Pro, take a different head (SureFire's KE2-DF), so a KE2-T ordered for an M640DF will not work.
- Fits: non-Dual Fuel M600U Scout Light (two 123A cells).
- Fits: non-Dual Fuel M640U Scout Light Pro (two 123A cells).
- Fits: M640T Turbo Scout Light Pro, as the factory replacement head.
- Does not fit: any Dual Fuel body, including the M640DF Scout Light Pro. Use the KE2-DF head, or buy the complete M640DFT-PRO.
If your light runs an 18650 cell, it is a Dual Fuel body and the KE2-T is the wrong part. SureFire's compatibility statement stops at M600U, M640U, and M640T, so treat older or discontinued Scout bodies as unconfirmed until SureFire lists them.

SureFire KE2-T Specs and SKUs
SureFire lists the KE2-T at 700 lumens, 70,000 candela, a 529-meter beam, and 1.5 hours of runtime on two 123A batteries (not included). Dual Fuel Owners: Buy the Complete M640DFT-PRO Instead
If you own a Dual Fuel Scout Light or no Scout Light at all, the complete SureFire M640DFT-PRO Turbo Scout Light Pro ($334.49) gives you the Turbo beam on the Dual Fuel platform. SureFire rates it at 700 lumens and 100,000 candela on an SF18650B cell, more candela than the KE2-T on two 123A cells. For flood-first indoor work, the M640DF Scout Light Pro ($319.99) is the 1,500-lumen option.
