HYVE Technologies
Machined aluminum +4 base pad for the Ruger MAX-9 12-round magazine. Adds four rounds for a total 16-round capacity, anodized in nine colors, made in USA.
+12 more
The HYVE +4 base pad is the highest-capacity option for the Ruger MAX-9. It replaces the factory polymer floor plate on the MAX-9 12-round magazine with a CNC-machined aluminum extension that adds four rounds, taking the magazine from 12+1 to 16+1 with the standard MAX-9 chamber load. For range and competition use, this is the cheapest path to a high-capacity MAX-9.
Install is tool-less. Depress the factory floor plate retainer with a small punch or paperclip, slide the OEM plate off, transfer the spring and follower into the HYVE plate, and snap it back onto the magazine body. The HYVE base pad uses an extended spring (included) to handle the additional capacity. Color choice covers black, red, tan, blue, OD green, copper, violet, gray, and gold.
Carry implications. The +4 takes the 12-round mag from a flush-grip extension to a noticeably long magazine. It is not a concealment-friendly carry mag. Most MAX-9 owners run this as a range or backup mag and keep the factory 12-round magazine for everyday carry. The base pad is restricted from shipping to 10-round magazine cap states (CA, CT, HI, MA, MD, NJ, NY, RI, WA, DC, Boulder Colorado).
