Overview
The AKR is the Picatinny upper of the RS Regulate AK-300 system: a 0 MOA 1913 rail for optics that ship on their own Picatinny base. It bolts to an RS lower with set screws and includes a roll pin to stake it so the sight cannot shift.
It weighs 2.37 ounces and measures 4.92 by 1.74 by 1.01 inches. RS's AK-301M page says not to use the AKR or AKOG uppers on that front-biased lower, so pair it with a rear-biased or full-length lower such as the AK-302M or AK-303M.
