Wilson Combat
Wilson Combat's longest-running 1911 trigger and the no-fitting-required budget alternative to the Ultralight Match. Three-hole aluminum pad, blued steel bow, adjustable over-travel screw.
Wilson Combat's #1 Competition Match Trigger has been their standard 1911 trigger upgrade for nearly fifty years. The pad is the same three-hole serrated aluminum profile as the Ultralight Match, but the bow is blued carbon steel rather than polished stainless. The result is the same lighter trigger inertia and adjustable over-travel screw at roughly half the price, with the tradeoff that the carbon steel bow has slightly more frame friction than the polished stainless on the Ultralight Match.
The critical distinction for budget builders: the #1 is rated for installation with little or no fitting on most current production 1911s. The Ultralight Match is fit-required for most installations and needs a sear job to realize the full break. If you want a meaningful trigger upgrade for under $25 without paying $100-150 in gunsmith time, the #1 is the right pick. If you are budgeting for full custom-shop trigger work, jump straight to the Ultralight Match instead.
Includes the trigger, 6-32 x 5/16-inch over-travel set screw, and a 1/16-inch Allen wrench. Long pad is the default; medium and short pad variants exist as separate SKUs for shooters with smaller hands or for competition reach preferences. Fits both Government 5-inch and Commander 4.25-inch full-size 1911 frames.
