Benelli M2 Tactical

The Benelli M2 Tactical uses Benelli's Inertia Driven system instead of a gas piston. Felt recoil cycles the bolt via a spring-loaded rotating bolt head, which keeps propellant gas and fouling out of the action entirely. The payoff is lower maintenance burden, faster lock time, and the lightest weight (6.7 lbs) of any tactical semi-auto shotgun. The tradeoff is higher ammunition sensitivity to light loads; the M2 needs roughly 1,250 fps minimum to cycle reliably. For duty roles where agencies run standard 2.75-inch 00 buck at 1,325 fps, this is not a limitation. Widely issued as a patrol shotgun by U.S. law enforcement.
