Lead & Steel Promethean LP-1

The Promethean LP-1 is Lead & Steel's enclosed-emitter rifle red dot, built around a 1.37 by 1.04 inch window that rivals the EOTech EXPS and Holosun 510C for situational awareness. The sealed emitter sits behind clear Japanese glass and a replaceable 6061-T6 crumple hood, so debris, mud, and impacts hit the sacrificial shroud instead of the lens. The main housing is CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminum, hard-coat anodized to Type III MIL-A-8625, and the optic carries an IPX8 waterproof rating with drain ports that keep water from pooling at the lenses.

The reticle is user-configurable across three modes: a precise 2 MOA dot, a 65 MOA ring around that dot for fast close-quarters acquisition, or the 65 MOA ring alone. Ten brightness settings cover the range, seven tuned for daylight and three for night vision. A single CR123A cell powers the LED, and the AuraWake partial shake-to-wake system ties the motion sensor only to the 65 MOA ring circuit, so the ring sleeps and wakes with movement while the dot behaves predictably. Windage and elevation adjust in 0.5 MOA clicks.

Mounting is handled by a two-step quick-detach lever that returns to zero and clamps to any 1913 Picatinny rail at a lower 1/3 co-witness height, a 1.70 inch optical axis that lines the LP-1 up with common magnifier and offset-mount ecosystems. At 12.6 ounces with the hood it weighs more than a micro red dot such as the Aimpoint T2, a tradeoff for the larger window and the crumple-hood protection. The LP-1 is backed by a lifetime warranty.
