The Tanfoglio Stock III Special is an all-steel CZ-pattern competition pistol aimed at IPSC and USPSA Production shooters who want the weight, balance, and DA/SA cadence of a heavy steel gun without moving into a 2011. Built in Italy on Tanfoglio's steel Stock-series frame, the Special trim uses G10 grip panels, a flat Tanfoglio Next trigger, an adjustable rear sight, and a fiber-optic front sight.
The all-steel construction at 46 ounces gives the Stock III Special the steady recoil behavior that makes CZ-pattern competition pistols popular. The Tanfoglio frame is dimensionally similar to the CZ 75 but uses Tanfoglio's own magazine and parts pattern, so magazines and tuning parts usually come from IFG/Tanfoglio specialists rather than CZ bins. The under-barrel rail and full dust cover shift weight forward for fast doubles and flatter transitions.
