Dueling Tree

This is the heavy end of the dueling tree market: five feet tall, 85 pounds, and built for a range that runs it every weekend. The rifle configuration uses 3/8-inch SR500 paddles, which the company rates for high-velocity rifle rounds; the pistol configuration drops to 1/4-inch paddles for non-magnum handgun calibers. The base is patent pending and wide enough that the tree stays put through a full string. One caution comes straight from the manufacturer: the center post is not rifle rated. On a tree, that is a feature and a bill at the same time, because it converts every sloppy miss into an incentive to aim.
