Overview
The SureFire SOCOM556-RC2 is a hard-use 5.56 suppressor with long-running military adoption and a mature Fast-Attach mounting ecosystem. Built from high-temperature alloy and stainless steel, the RC2 is designed for heavy firing schedules while keeping the package to 6.4 inches and 17 ounces.
The RC2 improved on the original SOCOM design with reduced back pressure and lower cyclic rates, addressing concerns about gas blowback and accelerated wear on suppressed firearms. SureFire publishes host-dependent ear sound data around the mid-130 dB range and emphasizes reduced sound, flash, and dust signature.
SureFire's Fast-Attach system allows rapid mounting and removal with compatible WARCOMPs, flash hiders, and muzzle brakes. All RC2 suppressors are individually test-fired to verify accuracy and point-of-impact consistency.
