Overview
The Tipton Ultra Cleaning Kit 554400 is the benchtop rod kit for the serious home cleaner. Its heart is a 3-piece 17-4 PH stainless cleaning rod with a .205 inch diameter and 40 inch usable length, paired with a multi-bearing handle so the jag follows the rifling instead of fighting it. A rigid rod plus the included Rapid Deluxe bore guide is the configuration that protects throat and crown on a precision rifle, which a flexible cable cannot match.
The kit covers .22 caliber and larger rifles with a 13-piece jag set and a 13-piece Best bore brush set, both cased and labeled. It adds AR-15 bolt carrier and action brushes, four polymer picks for carbon in tight corners, and general-purpose nylon and bronze brushes. Everything seats in a foam-lined case. This is a bench tool, not a range kit; pair it with the Tipton Ultra Gun Vise to hold the rifle steady during long cleaning sessions.
