Stainless forced reset trigger for the rimfire HK MP5 .22 LR, built as a permanent install with friction-fit retention
The Continental Customs HK MP5 .22 LR FRT (Stainless Gen 4) is a forced reset trigger for the rimfire HK MP5 .22 LR, a different gun from the 9mm MP5 and SP5 with its own trigger layout. The bolt's cycle pushes the trigger forward into reset after each shot, and every round still takes its own trigger press.
Continental Customs is open about how the design got here. Its first version was a pure friction fit that worked but did not last as long as the maker wanted. The second was solid stainless steel, which held up but fell out of place under its own weight unless the gun was heavily modified. The current version combines the two: a grippy friction fit where the part needs to stay put and stainless steel where it takes impact. Continental calls it a permanent install, which is the practical difference from the PETG-CF drop-in it still sells.
Buy this version if you have already settled on running a forced reset trigger in your MP5 .22 and want the longer-wearing part. Buy the PETG-CF version instead if you want a true drop-in rather than a permanent install. Continental will not ship it to California; verify current federal, state, and local law before purchase.
