Because the load rides on circumference rather than on a belt, it works with clothing that cannot support a holster at all.

That is the entire reason to buy one. A belly band is not a better holster than a molded belt rig; it is the holster that works when a belt is not an option. It draws slower, it sits against skin, and on soft-pocket designs the pistol is held by fabric tension rather than a detent.
