HK CC9 optic footprint: what red dots fit
The HK CC9 mounts red dots on a footprint HK spells out as RMSc / 407K, milled directly into the slide with no adapter plate in the stack. That single cut answers both micro patterns, so the Shield RMSc and the Holosun K family both bolt to the steel: the 407K and 507K, the enclosed EPS Carry and SCS Carry, the SIG Romeo Zero Elite and ROMEO-X Compact, the Vortex Defender-CCW, the Swampfox Sentinel II and the Gideon Judge II. The footprints that do not fit are the larger ones, the Trijicon RMR and the Holosun 507C, because the pocket is sized for micro optics rather than for a compact-slide dot.
HK splits the CC9 into two lines and the difference decides what you still need to buy. Optics Ready guns leave the factory with the cut and a tritium front sight against a blacked-out serrated rear, and no dot. Optics Equipped guns arrive with the optic already fitted, either a Holosun 407K or a Vortex Defender-CCW, and with blacked-out front and rear serrated sights instead. The slide cut is the same on both, so an Optics Ready pistol takes any of the micro dots on this page, while an Optics Equipped pistol is a package with the glass priced in.

No. HK specifies the CC9 cut as RMSc / 407K, a combined pattern rather than an RMSc-only pocket, and HK ships Optics Equipped CC9 pistols with a 407K mounted from the factory. That is the case where the usual two-lug versus four-lug argument does not apply, because the slide was milled for both patterns from the start.
Will a Trijicon RMR or Holosun 507C fit the HK CC9?
No. The CC9 pocket is the micro RMSc / 407K pattern. The RMR and 507C footprints are physically larger with different screw spacing, and there is no plate that grows a micro cut into a full-size one. Stay inside the RMSc and Holosun K family and the fit is direct.
Do HK VP9 optic plates work on the CC9?
No, and the CC9 does not need one. The VP9 optics-ready slide uses a numbered plate that drops into a plate pocket; the CC9 is milled for the optic itself, with no plate pocket for a VP9 plate to sit in. The two systems have nothing in common beyond the maker.
