Overview

The 22 Golden Bullet is Remington's bulk high-velocity staple, a 36gr plated hollow point rated at 1,280 fps and sold by the 525-round brick. Its reputation among blowback-gun shooters is built on how it cycles: the impulse runs noticeably softer than snappier high-velocity loads like CCI Stinger, which makes it the bulk pick when an action needs high-velocity energy without a sharp shove. That soft-shooting character is exactly why it is the named load for mid-length AR22 forced reset builds, where a 9-inch barrel sits at the tipping point between needing high velocity and being over-driven by it.

The brass-plated bullet feeds smoothly from stick and rotary magazines, and the hollow point gives it usable small-game performance inside 50 yards. As promotional bulk ammo, it is priced to burn through: the 525-round brick lands near the bottom of the per-round cost table for name-brand high velocity.

The tradeoff is bulk-ammo consistency. Lot-to-lot velocity spread and the occasional dud run higher than CCI's Mini-Mag line, so it is the wrong load for tuning a build to a razor-thin timing window from scratch. Establish reliability on Mini-Mag first, then move to Golden Bullet for volume once the gun is dialed.
