Overview
The HSGI Rifle TACO is the most adaptable pouch in this guide. Injection-molded polymer brackets form a rigid shell, and a shock cord laced around the body cinches the pouch down onto whatever magazine you load. That lets a single pouch hold an AR PMAG today and an AK or FAL mag tomorrow, which is why TACOs end up on so many mixed-platform rigs.
Retention is tuned by adjusting the shock cord tension. Cinched correctly the mag deploys silently and locks in place under movement; an internal strip of loop fastener adds extra grip against the magazine body. The polymer brackets keep the pouch mouth open for a one-handed reindex even when empty.
This is the standard 3-inch-wide MOLLE Rifle TACO. It runs heavier and bulkier than an elastic Ten-Speed or a slim KYWI, which is the cost of its universal fit and tunable retention. Made in the USA with a lifetime guarantee.
