3M 8293 P100 Particulate Respirator

The 3M 8293 is a disposable P100 filtering facepiece for shooters who do not want to maintain a reusable elastomeric mask. It uses a full foam faceseal, adjustable buckle straps, and a Cool Flow exhalation valve. 3M lists NIOSH approval TC-84A-2561 and a minimum 99.97 percent efficiency against approved solid and liquid aerosols, including oil-containing aerosols.

Disposable does not mean one-size-fits-all. The 8293 still has to pass the required seal and fit checks, and it must sit on clean-shaven sealing surfaces. A rifle stock, glasses, or other protective equipment cannot be allowed to disturb the seal.

3M specifically excludes gases and vapors. The 8293 is a particulate respirator, not a gas mask, and it cannot compensate for an indoor range with failed or reversed ventilation.
