Breek Arms Sledgehammer AR-15 Charging Handle (Mod2)

The Breek Arms Sledgehammer is a gas-blocking ambidextrous charging handle built for the problem that surfaces the moment you thread a suppressor onto an AR-15: gas venting back through the charging-handle channel and into your face. Where a sealed charging handle relies on a single gasket to dam that flow, the Sledgehammer uses a hybrid approach. A raised rear shelf and a keyway feature seat tight against the upper receiver to block the primary gas path, while patented internal stem baffling and relief cuts capture and slow the gas that does get through. The result is meaningful blowback reduction without the maintenance overhead of a fully gasketed handle.

Machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Type III hard-coat anodizing, the Sledgehammer carries the same material spec as the Radian Raptor and BCM Gunfighter it competes with. The ambidextrous latches let you charge from either side, which matters most on suppressed and short-barreled builds where support-side manipulation is common. At $69.99 it undercuts the Radian Raptor-LT by roughly ten dollars while adding the gas-mitigation feature that neither the Raptor nor the standard Gunfighter offers, putting it in a narrow tier of charging handles that do double duty as a gas-management part.

The Sledgehammer is the right call for a suppressed carbine or SBR where back-pressure is a daily annoyance but a sealed charging handle feels like overkill. On an unsuppressed, full-length rifle the gas-blocking features add nothing you will notice, and a lighter conventional ambidextrous handle covers the same manipulation need.
