Magpul
Standard Magpul pistol grip with A2-equivalent angle and improved ergonomics
The Magpul MOE Grip is the most-installed A2 replacement in the AR market for a simple reason: it keeps the 25-degree grip angle that most shooters are used to while fixing everything the A2 gets wrong. The finger groove is gone, replaced by a smooth front strap that accommodates any hand size. An ergonomic beavertail fills the gap between grip and receiver, preventing the trigger guard from digging into the knuckle during recoil. The anti-slip texture wraps the entire grip surface without being so aggressive that it tears up gloves.
Constructed from reinforced polymer, the MOE grip accepts Magpul's storage core system for stashing batteries, a bore snake, or a small parts kit in the hollow grip body. The grip plug is a separate purchase, but it actually stays put, unlike the A2's friction-fit cap. Height from receiver to bottom is 4.0 inches, fitting standard and most extended trigger guards.
At $21, the MOE grip is the minimum viable upgrade over an A2. It does not change your grip angle, does not add rubber overmolding, and does not have the steep pitch of the K2 series. What it does is eliminate every minor annoyance of the A2 grip for the cost of a box of 9mm. For shooters who like where the A2 puts their hand but not how the A2 feels in their hand, this is the answer.
