Galco Pocket Protector Pocket Holster

The Galco Pocket Protector is the leather benchmark for pocket carry. The body is Center Cut Steerhide molded to the gun, and the mouth is reinforced with a metal band so it stays open for a positive one-handed re-holster, which a soft nylon shell cannot do. The rough-out exterior and hooked profile catch the inside of the pocket on the draw so the holster stays behind while the gun comes out clean.

The leather breaks in to the gun over time and rides flatter against the leg than a rigid Kydex pocket holster, which keeps the print down through thinner pants. Trade-offs versus a Vedder Pocket Locker: leather is slower to re-holster than Kydex and the retention is friction-based rather than an adjustable click, so the Pocket Protector is the pick for low-print comfort rather than speed.
