Fortis Manufacturing
Billet AR-15 magazine catch paired with an extended release button, sold as a complete drop-in catch-and-button set.
The Fortis Billet Magazine Catch & Release upgrades both halves of the AR-15 magazine-release system in one kit: a billet magazine catch and an extended, contoured release button. Where the Magpul and ODIN parts only replace the button, the Fortis set also swaps the catch, so the whole release mechanism is machined billet rather than a factory cast catch with a bolt-on button.
The button and catch are 6061-T6 aluminum, with a 303 stainless catch rod and a 17-7 stainless spring, and the set drops in with no receiver modification. The extended button gives the trigger finger a larger face for faster magazine drops, and the matched catch keeps engagement crisp. Fortis offers the set in several anodized colors for builders matching a control set across the lower.
This is the pick when a shooter wants the complete catch-and-button upgrade on a budget instead of buying a button and reusing the factory catch. It is not ambidextrous, so left-handed shooters or anyone wanting support-side reloads should look at the Strike, CMMG, Forward Controls, or Norgon ambi options instead.
