Strike Industries
Patented drop-in ambidextrous AR-15 magazine catch that adds a left-side release so either hand drops the magazine.
The Strike Industries AMBI Magazine Release is a low-cost drop-in way to add ambidextrous magazine release to a standard AR-15 lower. It replaces the factory magazine catch with a patented assembly that adds a release lever on the left side of the receiver, so a left-handed shooter, or a right-handed shooter running the rifle support-side, can drop the magazine with the trigger finger without breaking the firing grip.
Installation is the same as a standard magazine catch. The kit ships with the ambidextrous catch, the magazine catch spring, and a Strike magazine release button, and it drops into any receiver cut to accept a mil-spec magazine catch. There is no milling, no roll pin work, and no permanent modification to the lower.
The tradeoff at this price is fitment with a few specific magazines. Strike notes the AMBI catch is not compatible with ASC magazines or Stag Arms GI magazines; standard aluminum USGI and Magpul PMAG bodies run without issue. For builders converting a mil-spec lower one control at a time, this is the value pick for the magazine-release slot.
Add the Strike Industries AMBI Magazine Release to your build and see how it enhances your platform.
