Mesa Tactical SureShell Polymer Carrier and Rail (Mossberg 500/590)

The Mesa Tactical SureShell polymer carrier and rail puts six 12-gauge shells on the receiver and adds a receiver-top Picatinny rail for Mossberg 500 and 590 shotguns. It is for drilled-and-tapped Mossberg receivers, so it is a different product from the plain side-mount carrier and is not the right pick for undrilled Maverick 88 receivers.

Installation uses the receiver-top mounting points and included hardware. Polymer construction keeps weight lower than aluminum carrier-and-rail versions, which matters because anything bolted to a pump shotgun moves with every cycling stroke. The elastic shell loops grip 12-gauge hulls firmly enough to survive recoil, but not so tightly that you can't pull a shell one-handed under stress.

For most defensive 500/590 builds, pick this version when the shotgun needs both shell carriage and an optic rail in one assembly. If the gun already has a rail or you want the lightest possible setup, Mesa's plain side-mount carrier is the cleaner choice.
