The Langdon Tactical Striker Control Device, the SCD or "Gadget", is a hinged slide cover plate that gives a Glock shooter the same holstering safety check a hammer-fired pistol provides for free. Press your thumb against the tab during holstering and the SCD blocks rearward striker movement. If a drawstring, garment, or holster mouth pushes the trigger to the rear, the tab pushes back against your thumb and tells you to stop before the striker releases.
Originally developed by Tau Development Group and championed by trainers including Tom Givens and the Pistol-Forum community, the design transferred to Langdon Tactical Technology in 2023. LTT now produces the device for Gen3, Gen4, and Gen5 Glocks. Install is a 60-second slide cover plate swap with no fitting and no factory part replacement, the original cover plate goes back in any time.
The SCD is a carry-safety upgrade, not a performance part. It does not change pull weight, reset, or accuracy. It pays for itself the first time you index your thumb on the slide during a re-holster and feel resistance you would otherwise have ignored. AIWB carriers, especially appendix carriers running soft IWB holsters or kydex with worn-out shells, are the highest-payoff users.
Add the Langdon Tactical Striker Control Device (Gadget) for Glock to your build and see how it enhances your platform.
