Timney's Alpha Competition Replacement Trigger for the Ruger RXM, sold as the Alpha RXM, is the RXM version of Timney's Alpha Competition pistol trigger. Timney rates it at a 3 lb pull with no adjustment; each unit is hand-assembled, tested, and calibrated, and the trigger is made in the USA. The kit holds a red snap-in sear housing, a new trigger and trigger bar, and two trigger return springs, one light (gray) and one heavy (red).
Installation keeps the RXM's factory trigger housing. Timney's instructions have the sear housing pressed into the Ruger trigger housing until it sits flush, the new trigger bar mated to that housing, and the assembly set back into the stainless Fire Control Insert; the only tool Timney lists is a straight punch. Shoot On measured the factory RXM trigger at an average of 4 lb 11.1 oz and the Alpha RXM at 2 lb 15.5 oz. Gun Digest measured its RXM drop from about 5 lb to just over 2.5 lb, with 2 to 3 mm less travel between safety release and sear release.
Timney lists the Alpha RXM as compatible with stock Ruger RXM pistols. It is a separate part from Timney's Glock Alpha triggers: the Gen 3/4 Glock Alpha is listed for stock Glock pistols only. A Timney technician told Gun Digest that on fewer than about 1 percent of RXMs the factory disconnector lacks the tension to stop the trigger bar after the break, and the fix is bending it outward slightly.
