Canik
Full-size striker-fired 9mm with optic-ready slide, 18+1 capacity, and one of the best factory triggers under $600. The METE SFT is Canik's do-everything model: duty, home defense, competition, and first-gun use.
0-10 Scale Across 8 Axes
The Canik METE SFT is the pistol that broke the value curve in striker-fired handguns. At $519.99 MSRP (street prices routinely dip below $350), it ships with a factory trigger that embarrasses pistols at twice the price, an optic-ready slide, and 18+1 or 20+1 capacity from the box. The trigger breaks cleanly at 5-5.5 lbs with a short, positive reset and minimal pre-travel.
The METE SFT uses Canik's current-generation frame with aggressive texturing and a flared magwell. The slide is optic-ready through Canik's plate system; current Canik guidance lists broader RMR and RMS/RMSc support on newer serial-number pistols, while older serials use a narrower plate mix. Check the pistol serial and included plate pack before buying an optic.
The aftermarket is growing fast. Taylor Freelance covers magwells and basepads for competition, Overwatch Precision makes the TAC and FALX trigger kits, and Galloway Precision offers triggers, guide rods, springs, and optic plates. Holster support from Vedder, Tulster, and ANR Design covers the most common carry and competition configurations.
