The Texas Trigger USA Canik FRT brings forced reset trigger performance to the Canik METE and RIVAL pistol family at a value price. A forced reset trigger uses a mechanical reset path that drives the trigger forward after each shot, letting a disciplined shooter run faster splits than a stock striker trigger allows. The body is CNC-machined from billet aluminum and finished in Cerakote, offered in black or red, and installs as a drop-in part with no permanent modification to the pistol.
Fitment is broad across the METE line: METE SF, METE SFX, METE SF PRO, METE SFX PRO, METE SFT, and METE SFT PRO all run it, along with the SFX RIVAL and the TTI COMBAT. The RIVAL-S works with some tuning, and the TP9 ELITE runs it only with a 22 lb recoil spring and heavier ammunition to cycle reliably. For consistent reset across the supported guns, Texas Trigger USA recommends pairing the FRT with a 20 lb or heavier recoil spring and a 3.5 lb trigger kit.
The FRT mechanism fires one round per pull and is not an NFA item, but the federal picture for a grip-fed handgun FRT is less settled than for a rifle: the 2025 DOJ settlement covered rifles and grip-forward pistols, not striker handguns like the Canik. Legality is also state-specific and continues to shift, and the manufacturer will not ship to CA, CT, DE, FL, HI, IL, MA, MD, MI, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OR, RI, WA, DC, or US territories. Confirm current federal, state, and local law before ordering.
