Walther Q5 Match Steel Frame Pro

The Walther Q5 Match Steel Frame Pro is the competition-tuned version of the Q5 Match SF and the value alternative to a CZ Shadow 2 OR. Walther replaces the polymer frame with a precision-machined steel billet, which drives unloaded weight to 42.3 ounces and dampens muzzle rise enough that follow-up shots track noticeably faster than the standard polymer-frame Q5. The wrap-around grip panel, extended beavertail, and full-length Picatinny rail are factory standard.

The trigger is the platform's signature. Walther's Performance Duty Trigger breaks flat at approximately 5.6 pounds with 0.4 inches of travel and a short, tactile reset that competitive shooters consistently rate as the best striker-fired trigger from any major manufacturer. The 5-inch ported polygonal-rifled barrel adds top-end velocity and reduces muzzle flip without crossing into compensator territory that would push the gun out of Production division. LPA adjustable black rear and red fiber-optic front sights ship factory.

The Pro variant adds Walther's Performance magwell and +2 aluminum base pads to the standard SF, pushing flush capacity from 15 to 17 and extending to 19 with the +2 plates. The slide is optic-ready with adapter plates for RMR, Shield RMSc, and Holosun K footprints. USPSA approves the Q5 Match Steel Frame for both Production and Carry Optics. At $2,349 MSRP it sits $1,000 below the Staccato XL and within $300 of a CZ Shadow 2 OR, with a meaningfully better striker trigger and an established ecosystem.
