The Walther Q5 Match Steel Frame Pro is the legacy competition-tuned version of the Q5 Match SF and a steel-frame alternative to a CZ Shadow 2 OR. Walther replaces the polymer frame with a precision-machined steel billet, which drives unloaded weight to 42.3 ounces and dampens muzzle rise enough that follow-up shots track noticeably faster than the standard polymer-frame Q5. The wrap-around grip panel, extended beavertail, and full-length Picatinny rail are factory standard.
The trigger is the platform's signature. Walther's Quick Defense Trigger breaks at approximately 5.6 pounds with 0.4 inches of travel and a short, tactile reset that competitive shooters consistently rate highly among factory striker-fired triggers. The 5-inch barrel works with a ported slide, while LPA adjustable black rear and red fiber-optic front sights ship factory.
The Pro variant adds Walther's Performance magwell and aluminum base pads to the standard SF. The slide is optic-ready through Walther plate support for common competition dots such as Trijicon RMR, Leupold DeltaPoint, and Docter/Noblex-style optics. USPSA approves the Q5 Match Steel Frame for both Production and Carry Optics. It is now a legacy model, as Walther's current steel-frame catalog centers the PDP Steel Frame family.
