Cole-TAC
Custom-sized 3-layer cover with a 3000°F inner base, 1800°F middle, and 1000D Cordura outer. The precision-rifle mirage default for bolt guns and slow semi-auto.
The HTP is Cole-TAC's mirage-control answer for precision shooters. The three-layer construction is the differentiator: the outer is standard 1000D Cordura for abrasion resistance, the middle layer is rated to 1800°F, and the innermost base layer that contacts the can carries a 3000°F rating. That stack handles the heat soak from a 5-round bolt-gun string or a moderate semi-auto rhythm without telegraphing mirage into the optic.
Cole-TAC sizes every HTP to the host suppressor, which means retention is dialed in rather than approximate. The BOA locking strap system uses dual cinch points front and rear, and stays tight under recoil where simple paracord cinches creep loose. The product page is explicit on the limits: Cole-TAC does NOT recommend the HTP for 5.56 mag dumps, full-auto, or rapid-fire AR work. Buyers who want a cover for sustained fire get steered to the Cole-TAC Corset instead.
For a PRS bolt gun, an F-class .308, or a slow-paced .300 Win Mag hunting rig, this is the cover that gets recommended most. Pair it with the optional Stricta Cord for extra retention insurance during prone work where the can rests on bags.
