Streamlight
340-lumen area lantern running on D-cells with up to 7 days of continuous runtime. IPX7 waterproof, impact resistant, with red light mode.
The Streamlight Siege Compact fills a role that flashlights and headlamps cannot: area illumination for living spaces during extended power outages. A flashlight provides a focused beam; a headlamp provides personal task lighting. Neither effectively lights a room, a tent, or a work area for hours at a time. The Siege provides 360-degree ambient light optimized for exactly this purpose.
The D-cell power source is a deliberate design choice for emergency preparedness. D-cells are available at every grocery store, gas station, and hardware store. They store well for years and provide the energy density needed for extended runtime. On low white mode, three D-cells power the Siege for approximately 168 hours, or seven full days of continuous operation. That runtime covers most power outage scenarios without battery changes. The multiple brightness levels and red light mode provide flexibility: full brightness for work, low for ambient comfort, red for night vision preservation and battery conservation.
IPX7 waterproof construction and a rubberized base make the Siege suitable for outdoor use in rain, flooding, or wet conditions. The removable cover converts between full lantern mode and a glare-free, ground-level mode. A built-in D-ring carabiner clip allows hanging from tent loops, hooks, or improvised overhead points. The Siege is not the lightest lantern available, but it is one of the most reliable and longest-running, which is what matters when the lights go out and stay out.
