Overview

M-Pro 7 Gun Cleaner solves a problem traditional solvents create: most effective bore cleaners are also the products you cannot use indoors without ventilation, cannot ship without hazmat fees, and cannot get on your skin without consequences. M-Pro 7 is water-based, biodegradable, non-flammable, non-toxic, and effectively odorless. It is also genuinely effective, which is why it has been adopted by US military units and law enforcement agencies that need a cleaner usable inside vehicles, in armory cleaning rooms, and during in-field maintenance.

The formula targets the three fouling categories that build up in modern firearms: carbon deposits from burned propellant, lead residues from unjacketed bullets and shotgun shot cups, and copper jacket fouling that accumulates in the bore over a few hundred rounds. Application is straightforward: wet a patch and run it through the bore, let it sit briefly, then follow with brush passes and dry patches. Heavily copper-fouled bores benefit from a 10 to 15-minute soak before brushing. The cleaner does not damage common firearm finishes including bluing, parkerizing, nitride, anodizing, or polymer.

The tradeoff to be aware of: M-Pro 7 Gun Cleaner has zero lubrication function. It is a dedicated solvent. After cleaning, the bore and any cleaned components must be wiped down and re-lubricated with a CLP, dedicated lube, or rust preventive. M-Pro 7 also makes a separate Gun Oil LPX product specifically for this lubrication step, which pairs cleanly with the Cleaner if you want to standardize on the brand. For shooters who care about indoor air quality, who clean in a small apartment, or who travel with cleaning supplies that need to clear airline rules, M-Pro 7 is the obvious choice over Hoppe's No. 9.
