Overview

The SOG PowerAccess Deluxe delivers 21 tools with SOG's signature compound leverage system that doubles the force applied through the pliers and wire cutters. This gear-driven mechanism provides serious cutting capability that outperforms multi-tools costing twice as much, making the PowerAccess the value leader for users who need dependable cutting power. The increased leverage proves particularly valuable for heavy-gauge wire, zip ties, and materials that challenge standard plier designs.

All tools on the PowerAccess can be accessed and locked without opening the pliers, allowing rapid deployment of the blade, screwdrivers, and other implements without reconfiguring the tool. The hex bit driver accepts standard 1/4" bits, providing versatility beyond the included bit set. The main blade uses 5Cr15MoV steel with a hardness of 57-58 HRC, offering a reasonable balance of edge retention and ease of sharpening for field maintenance.

The Deluxe version includes a hex bit driver, 12 included bits, and a nylon sheath that the standard PowerAccess lacks. At 7.9 oz and 4.5" closed, the PowerAccess Deluxe provides a full-size multi-tool experience at a mid-compact weight. While it lacks the premium materials and AR-specific tools of the Leatherman MUT, the compound leverage alone makes the PowerAccess Deluxe worth considering for any tactical EDC application where cutting capability matters.
